Kapono still weighing draft options

UCLA freshman forward Jason Kapono says that he still hasn't made up his mind about declaring for the NBA draft.

Kapono said he will make a decision before Sunday's deadline to declare for the draft. Kapono denied that he was planning on holding a news conference Thursday.

"I'm still weighing my options," Kapono said. "It's a dream of mine to play in the pros and if I'm convinced I can go, then I will. If I can't or I won't go high in the first round then I'll come back to school."

Kapono led the Bruins in scoring with 16 points a game last season. If he decided to bolt for the pros, he would join UCLA sophomores JaRon Rush and Jerome Moiso in the NBA draft. But Kapono could decide to test the draft process. He has until June 21 to pull his name out if he declares for the draft.

At least two NBA scouts have said that Kapono could be a first-round pick.
