Virginia Tech was the big favorite this week with the voters in the ESPN.com Power 16 Poll. The Hokies moved up seven spots to No. 8 following their impressive win over LSU. The Tigers and Colorado dropped all the way out of the poll, while Washington dropped five slots to No. 16 and is the only school with a losing record still above the "Also receiving votes" line. Oklahoma and Miami hung on to the top two spots, but the Sooners no longer enjoy last week's cushion in first-place votes (10) or total points (21).
Also receiving votes: Colorado State (21), Kansas State (21), USC (14), Iowa State (11), Oregon State (11), Texas A&M (8), Notre Dame (6), Colorado (4), Penn State (4), NC State (3), Wisconsin (3), Alabama (1), LSU (1).
