CHARLOTTE, N.C. Katie Meier, an assistant
at Tulane for the past seven seasons, was named
women's basketball coach at Charlotte on Wednesday.
Meier was promoted to the position of associate head coach at
Tulane following the conclusion of the 1998-99 season and served
in that capacity for the past two seasons.
During her stay in New Orleans, Meier helped the Green Wave
compile a 161-53 (.752) record and earn seven consecutive trips
to the NCAA Tournament.
"This is a great opportunity for Kate and we are extremely
excited for her," Tulane coach Lisa Stockton said. "We
appreciate everything that she has given to Tulane women's
basketball."
