Visness has made 68 consecutive free throws

Associated Press

WINONA, Minn. -- Concordia-Moorhead guard Jamie Visness set an NCAA women's all-division record with 68 consecutive free throws on Sunday.

Visness, a sophomore, went 4-for-4 from the line and finished with nine points in the Cobbers' 66-65 win over St. Mary's, Minn.

Richmond's Ginny Doyle set the old mark in 1991-92 by hitting 66 straight.

Visness, who made her final 12 free throws last season and is currently 56-for-56 this season, set the Division III record Saturday in Concordia's loss to Carleton.

Her streak started Jan. 28, 2002 against St. Catherine and spans 29 games. Visness, a Hallock native who played at Kittson Central High School, has made free throws in 21 of those games and Concordia is 15-14 during the streak.
