Bucs defense strong enough for repeat

ESPN.com

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will repeat as Super Bowl champions

Mike Golic
Fact: The Buccaneers have a great chance to repeat because of their defense. Although they're a year older, they're still dominant and dangerous for opposing offenses. Offensively, the key issue is running back. Because of Michael Pittman's ongoing legal issues, the Bucs traded for Thomas Jones, who struggled through three years in Arizona. Tampa didn't set the world on fire last season with 97.3 yards per game rushing and the passing game isn't good enough to go unsupported by the running game. But defense is what wins championships and the Bucs still have the best in the NFL.

Merril Hoge
Fact: Jon Gruden has a way of creating purpose. He motivates his players and gives them the incentive and focus to try to be better. The biggest problem with repeating is complacency and Gruden simply won't allow that to happen. The only concern is if they peak too early in the season. Consistency isn't a problem defensively, but offensively it may be their biggest problem.
