In only 12 games Kerry completed 204 passes for 2,454 yards (adding to his Carolins passing yardage record currently at 5,171) and 14 touchdowns (adding to his other record that currently stands at 28 passing TD's)... He was sixth in the NFC with a 79.4 QB rating and he had one 300-yard passing outing... The result? playing in the NFC championship game and a trip to the Pro Bowl.

Set expansion records for passing yards (2,571) and completions (208), breaking the old marks set by Seattle's Jim Zorn in 1977 ... Voted to the first-team all-rookie squad ... Exceeded 200-yards passing in eight games ... Rushed for 74 yards on 42 attempts and scored three TDs ... Took over the starting role after the fourth week of the season to become the NFL's youngest starting QB ... Threw the game-winning 89-yard TD pass to WR Willie Green on Dec. 17 vs. Atlanta to cap a 14-point comeback in the fourth quarter ... Completed 17 passes in the Panthers victory over the defending Super Bowl Champions on Nov. 5 at San Francisco.
