NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Kimmo Timonen scored a power-play goal as he slid along the ice and Cliff Ronning had a pair of assists, leading the Nashville Predators to a 3-2 victory Saturday night over the Detroit Red Wings. Timonen snapped a 2-2 tie just 43 seconds into the second period. He took Ronning's cross-ice pass in the left circle and pushed a wrist shot underneath Chris Osgood. Timonen fell and was sliding toward the left post as the puck went in. Nashville, which won at home for the first time since Oct. 14, is 2-0 against Detroit this season with a third game Monday at Joe Louis Arena. The Predators held a team meeting after an embarrassing 5-1 loss to expansion Columbus on Thursday. Detroit lost for the second straight night after going 3-0-1 in its previous four games. Richard Lintner gave the Predators the early lead on the power play. Lintner beat Chris Osgood with a screened wrist shot from the right point. It was Osgood's first appearance since Nov. 3 after Manny Legace took his spot in the starting lineup. The Red Wings managed just four shots in the third period. Slava Kozlov and Martin Lapointe quickly put the Red Wings ahead 2-1 with power-play goals 1:51 apart in the first period. They scored on both ends of an elbowing double-minor to Nashville's Sebastien Bordeleau. Kozlov put the rebound of his own shot under Tomas Vokoun's pads. Lapointe then one-timed a pass from Brendan Shanahan past Vokoun from the left circle for his team-leading 10th goal. Rookie Scott Hartnell tied it 2-2 for the Predators by poking the rebound of Vitali Yachmenev's shot by Osgood. In the third period, Vokoun made two key saves on Brendan Shanahan and one on Sergei Fedorov. The Red Wings entered with the NHL's second-best penalty killing and the Predators came in with the third-worst power play. Game notesRed Wings defenseman Chris Chelios (knee) missed his second straight game. Chelios had been skating with Nicklas Lidstrom on Detroit's top defense pairing. ... Legace, who played in Detroit's last seven games, already has a career-high seven wins (7-2-1). ... Nashville's Rob Valicevic, a Detroit native, will have arthroscopic knee surgery Monday. ...
