ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ Mike LeClerc and Oleg Tverdovsky broke open a scoreless game with power-play goals in the final two minutes of the second period, and Guy Hebert posted his 27th career shutout as the Anaheim Mighty Ducks beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-0 on Sunday night.

Andy McDonald added a third-period goal _ his first in eight NHL games _ and Paul Kariya ended the scoring with a short-handed breakaway goal, helping the Ducks end a three-game losing streak and a five-game winless skid. Teemu Selanne and Oleg Tverdovsky each had two assists.

The Kings, who killed all 14 short-handed situations in their previous four games, survived their first four against the Ducks. But the streak was broken 42 seconds after Rob Blake was sent off for high sticking Samuel Pahlsson.

LeClerc parked himself in front of the crease and tipped in Kariya's one-timer from the high slot at 18:01 for his ninth goal.

Mathieu Schneider received a cross-checking penalty with 44 seconds left in the period and the Ducks cashed in just 25 seconds later.

Selanne skated the puck into the left circle and goalie Jamie Storr moved out of his crease to cut down the angle, but Selanne spotted Tverdovsky all alone at the right of the net for his fourth goal.

McDonald made it 3-0 at 4:15 of the third, converting a rebound after Storr stopped a long slap shot by Tverdovsky. Kariya added his 10th goal on a backhander with 11:58 remaining, while teammate Vitaly Vishnevski was serving an elbowing penalty. The unassisted short-handed goal was Kariya's 14th and second this season.

Hebert, who missed the previous four games because of a sore left shoulder, stopped Nelson Emerson on a breakaway with 81/2 minutes left in the first period for one of his 29 saves. He earned his first shutout since Mar. 5 against Nashville and became the first goalie to blank the high-scoring Kings this season.

Emerson, who scored at least 20 goals in six of his first eight NHL seasons _ including a pair of 30-goal campaigns _ has scored only five times in 32 games since joining Los Angeles in March.

The Kings, who entered the game with the league's second-best power-play percentage, were 0-for-5 with the man advantage. They have been blanked on the power play in consecutive games for the first time since a three-game drought Oct. 17-21. The Ducks' penalty-killing unit has allowed one goal in 24 short-handed situations over the last five games.

Notes: The sellout crowd (17,174) was the first of the season for the Ducks, who failed to sell out their home opener for the first time in the team's eight-year history. ... The Ducks have scored at least one power-play goal in seven straight games after going 1-for-35 in their previous eight. ... Andreas Lilja, the Kings' second-round pick in the June draft, made his NHL debut in place of rookie Lubomir Visnovsky, who had back spasms. The rugged Swedish defenseman had 70 penalty minutes in just 20 games this season with Lowell of the AHL. ... The Ducks scored more than two goals for only the second time in 13 games. ... Selanne has failed to score a goal in a season-high five straight games. His longest drought last season was eight games. ... Steve Rucchin, who has missed eight games with a broken nose and cheekbone after getting hit by a deflected shot by Selanne, could return to the lineup as soon as Tuesday night at St. Louis. ... Ziggy Palffy's consecutive-game point streak on the road ended at 10 games (8-10-18). ... Kariya is 10 points away from becoming the first player from a 1990s expansion team to record 500 points with the same team.
