Zyuzin's goal ties it for Lightning

  RECAP | BOX SCORE

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Dan Cloutier made the most of a rare chance to play Saturday night, but the Tampa Bay Lightning goalie came away with little to show for it.

Cloutier, making his first start since a 3-1 loss at Anaheim on Dec. 17, made 33 saves as Tampa Bay and the Boston Bruins tied 1-1.

Cloutier (2-7-3) was seeking his first victory since a 3-0 shutout of Detroit at the Ice Palace on Dec. 2.

"It was a big game for him," Bruins coach Mike Keenan said of Cloutier. "They've been battling here in the goaltending position, and he gave them a good effort tonight."

Lightning coach Steve Ludzik rested No. 1 goaltender Kevin Weekes after victories against Carolina and Philadelphia on Tuesday and Thursday.

Right wing Brian Rolston scored Boston's goal 9:28 into the game, tapping a rebound past Cloutier for his 100th career goal and sixth of the season.

The Lightning drew even five minutes later. Defenseman Andrei Zyuzin beat Bruins goalie Byron Dafoe from the left circle for his first goal of the season.

"Martin St. Louis gave me a great pass," Zyuzin said.

The power-play goal was a rarity for Tampa Bay, which had scored only twice in its previous 43 man-advantage opportunities.

The Lightning were unsuccessful on five other power-play chances against the Bruins.

Boston also has been struggling on the power play, converting just three times on its last 42 attempts. The Bruins were scoreless in five tries Saturday.

Right wing Bill Guerin, who came in with 23 goals and a share of the NHL goal-scoring lead with Theo Fleury of the New York Rangers, was charged with five of Boston's seven penalties.

Dafoe (4-6-4), who made 22 saves, faced only three shots in the third period.

"The Lightning didn't have a lot of scoring chances," Dafoe said, "but I was there, and the guys were there for the rebounds."

The Lightning took the only two shots in overtime.

Game notes
Tampa Bay is 2-1-2 on its current six-game homestand, which concludes Sunday against Toronto. ... Boston is 5-11-1-1 on the road. ... Lightning captain Vincent Lecavalier hasn't scored a goal since Dec. 6 at Philadelphia. ... Tampa Bay RW Alexander Kharitonov has played 31 games without a penalty.
