ankle 52 seconds into the second period of Friday night's 4-2
playoff loss to St. Louis and did not return.

Stars coach Ken Hitchcock said Modano, who left the arena with a
cast on his ankle, will have an MRI on Saturday. It's not yet known
whether he'll play in Game 2 of the series Sunday night.
"We'll evaluate it tomorrow and give you a complete update
after practice," Hitchcock said.
Modano knocked legs with Alexei Gusarov after taking a two-line
pass at center ice. Play was stopped for the infraction and Modano
scooted to the bench, then to the locker room with the aid of a
trainer. He was not putting any pressure on the left leg.
Dallas trailed 2-1 at the time.
Modano, who is already playing with a nose injury that required
35 stitches, leads Dallas with team highs of three goals and five
points this postseason. Send this story to a friend | Most sent stories
