THESSALONIKI, Greece -- Dee Brown hit nine 3-pointers and finished with 47 points as the unbeaten United States beat Lithuania 87-84 on Tuesday at the World Junior Basketball Championships.

Brown, a guard from Illinois, helped the U.S. team improve to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in second-round play. Linas Kleiza lead Lithuania with 28 points.

In another game, Andrew Bogut scored 18 points to help Australia edge Puerto Rico 83-82. In other games involving the top eight teams Tuesday, Greece played Turkey and Croatia played Slovenia.

The finals begin Friday.

The under-19 tournament was moved from Malaysia because of fears of severe acute respiratory syndrome.
