Mike Price's impassioned plea for a second chance struck a chord with Page 2's Eric Neel. Sure there's a little bit of Price and Larry Eustachy in all of us. We feel for their fates. But in the end, this was a battle between hearts and minds. Maybe it's tough love, but Iowa State and Alabama had no room for sentiment.

Sports history is littered with athletes, coaches and even an owner or two who've been given opportunity after opportunity for redemption. Think Steve Howe. Or Darryl Strawberry. Page 2's Jeff Merron catalogues the most chronic offenders, as well as some who never got a second chance.

The Daily Quickie Hunter S. Thompson
All's right with the Daily Quickie's world when Ottawa wins. (What can we say? He's goofy like that.) And if Phil Jackson is crying about the officiating, this must be the NBA playoffs. Then there's Michael's ongoing soap opera with the Wizards.
Life is good for Hunter S. Thompson today as the Good Doctor fleeces a flock of unsuspecting Holy Men from the Vatican with a crafty wager the Lakers-Spurs game. Now if he can just keep the word "sweep" out of the rest of the playoffs ...

WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY THINKING?
Nice little tribute Jennifer Lopez makes to Jennifer Beals in her new music video. But don't you wonder what J-Lo was thinking as she tried to squeeze into Beals' old "Flashdance" costume and realized that ... uh-oh, it's too small! We did. We wondered, too, what the heck Brad Pitt, Carl Everett and the Dixie Chicks were thinking.

So, a couple of college coaches sampled the local nightlife. What's the big deal? Athletes and coaches have been hitting the town for decades. To prove it, we give you Page 2's list of the biggest sports party animals of all-time:

10]  Billy Martin
Billy lived in ballparks and bars, and brawled frequently in both venues. "It's not that Billy drinks a lot," wrote Dick Young. "It's just that he fights a lot when he drinks a little."
9]  Max McGee
The aging, seldom used receiver took in the L.A. scene the night before the Packers played the Chiefs in Super Bowl I. But when Vince Lombardi called his number he delivered with seven catches for 138 yards and two TDs.
8]  Hollywood Henderson
Cocaine. On and off the field. Now a recovered drug addict, Henderson admitted that he often played high, like when, during Super Bowl XIII, he tucked an inhaler of liquefied cocaine inside his uni.

This match probably makes Todd Jones a bit uncomfortable. However, we really think the Rockies reliever, left, looks a lot like Glenn Hughes, the biker or "leatherman" from the Village People. Page 2 has received four requests for this duo. Browse our archives of past pairs or click here to submit a future duo.
