Page 2's Power Poll dares to rate the teams that are currently wielding the most power in the entire sports universe.

Each week, our poll will rank the 10 teams at the top of the power heap -- and the five teams that have lost the most power in the past week. And, by the way, Page 2 uses its own definition for a "team" -- any group of two or more bonded together for the common purpose.

Our Momentum Meter also predicts the direction these teams will be heading in future weeks (see the bottom of the page for a full explanation).

1. Philly 76ers	If they only had Lynch. If Snow's foot wasn't broken. If Iverson was 100 percent. If pigs could fly. ... Well, maybe they can.


2. Seattle Mariners	Best record in league, 14-game winning streak, closing in on best start in baseball history.


3. Los Angeles Lakers	Three, Fo', Fo' ... Five?


4. New Jersey Devils	No Arnott, no problem. One win from Hockey Nirvana Redux.


5. 31 in 58	Barry Bonds goes where no man has gone before.


6. Rampaging Golf Superstars	Karrie Webb is almost automatic. And Tiger? Don't even think about it.


7. Chicago Cubs	Team Streak has won 14 of last 15. And the truly amazing thing is: They're doing it with pitching.


8. Out-of-the-Blue MVP Candidates	In NL, Cards rookie Albert Pujols is second in batting, fifth in RBIs. In AL, M's Bret Boone is making bid to become first second baseman since Rogers Hornsby to lead league in RBIs.


9. NBC	Maybe they won't need U2, Destiny's Child and "Weakest Link" to make NBA Finals interesting.


10. Cleveland Indians	Despite injury-decimated pitching staff, best offense in game finally overtook overachieving Twinkies in AL Central.

1. Milwaukee Bucks		Not only lost to NBA's equivalent of M.A.S.H. unit, but conspiracy comments by Karl and Allen were whiny, paranoid and foolish.
