Page 2's Power Poll dares to rate the teams that are currently wielding the most power in the entire sports universe.

Each week, our poll will rank the 10 teams at the top of the power heap -- and the five teams that have lost the most power in the past week. And, by the way, Page 2 uses its own definition for a "team" -- any group of two or more bonded together for the common purpose.

Our Momentum Meter also predicts the direction these teams will be heading in future weeks (see the bottom of the page for a full explanation).

7. Philadelphia Phillies	Bowa's constrictors have best record in NL, and a 7½-game lead in East.


8. Chicago Cubs	Schizoid champs of baseball, following eight-game tailspin with 10-game winning streak.


9. Golf cart manufacturers	Casey Martin earned his. But now every yahoo on the course, pro or not, will want latest hot accessory he thinks will give him an edge.


10. Princeton lacrosse	Ivy Leaguers beat defending titleist and top seed Syracuse in rematch of last year's NCAA finals.

2. San Antonio Spurs		Mother always said, "If you can't speak well of the dead, say nothing at all."


1. French Open TV ratings		After first round, only two of top six women in world -- Martina Hingis and Jennifer Capriati -- are still serving. And no Anna.
