Here are your responses to last week's Page 2 Power Poll:

Downward Mo' for the UConn women? This is a team that is now emotionally rallying around both Svet and Shea Ralph. With a No. 1 seed and Tennessee and Notre Dame on the other half of the bracket, watch out. ... The Huskies love a challenge!

The Connecticut women beat Notre Dame in Storrs on a prayer 3-pointer at the first half buzzer and a buzzer beater to end the game, and you have them in the "Flexing Their Muscles" portion of your power poll. Is Robin Roberts doing the voting in this poll, or what?

I think that it is utterly ridiculous that Duke's men's and women's teams did not make it on this week's Power Poll. After a stunning and definitive upset over North Carolina last weekend despite the loss of their best inside threat, the men's team showed the world why they are at the top of the polls and showed history that never before has there been a basketball program quite like this. The women's team just won the first ever tournament and regular season ACC title and fought through a series of tough matchups to claim their second ACC tournament in a row. In addition, these athletes are model students and citizens and are the prototypical examples of what every university student should strive to be. What more could you possibly want to put in your weekly Power Poll?

Maryland men's hoops not in the top ten? are you kidding me? have you seen them play the last two weeks? the monkey will finally be off Gary's back (note: shouldn't be there in the first place for all of you fair weather, Gary bashing, supposed Maryland. fans) come Sunday evening. they will take care of wake, Duke, and Carolina (if they get past Virginia/Georgia Tech). duke got lucky against UNC because the Heels could get outrun by a squad from the local nursing home. their shots didn't fall against Maryland last Tuesday because they actually had a defender in their face. and as for the Heels, completely overrated as usual. Gary and his Terps will win the ACC and be in the final four this year, guaranteed.

Top 10: Mike Davis and the Indiana Hoosiers. Coach Davis taking over shaky reins and turning it into a Love Fest ... Hot Hoosiers, local paper approval ratings of Davis range from 75-90 percent. Local talk of this year's Hoosiers being the funnest team to watch in years.

I think this poll is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. You are supposedly ranking the hottest teams out there and yet there is no sign of the Detroit Red Wings. As of now they are the hottest team in all of sports along with Michigan State's Hockey team. I don't understand how you can look past either of these two teams. They are both playing excellent hockey and are in championship form. Please rethink your poll's next week and give the hottest teams their due. Go Red Wings and Spartans.

Enough is Enough about the Yankees being among the top Power teams ... at least wait until the season starts. oh wait I forgot, you are all a bunch of wagon jumpers ... when they don't win the Series this year, you will all be singing a different tune .... wagon hoppers get on at next stop.

Where are the Wings? I am sick and tired of seeing the Avs up there -- we lose once and we are gone. ... I don't think so. Let's see some red on the poll!

OK, you guys had the Avalanche at No. 4 with a 6-2-1 record, yet the Red Wings, who are 13-1-2 in their past 15, weren't even mentioned. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they got Rob Blake. Yeah, yeah, yeah they're first in their division, but c'mon. Blake's been all right, but hasn't strung together any great numbers, first place in the Northwest Division is like first place in a pee-wee league.

And all the while the Wings are wrestling first place in the much tougher Central Division from St. Louis. Next thing you know, you'll put Tampa Bay in the poll for getting two straight wins.

Two hockey teams in the top ten, but no Red Wings? I'll give you the Avalanche, but no team has been hotter than the Wings in the last month and a half. Maybe they got whacked out of the seven slot by Tony and the Soprano gang. Fugghetaboutit, they should be there!

My vote for the weaklings of the weak: The Vikings. After the worst defensive choke in years, 41-0 loss to stone age Giants, coupled with so little cap space they can't even pay attention! (To the fact that the only players they are losing in free agency are defensive players.)

The bad are getting worse!

You really missed this one! Not that the Avalanche don't belong on the list, albeit much lower, but check Detroit's recent record (11-1-3 in last 14). Far superior to Colorado's you listed.

Top 10 isn't bad but...you made one notable omission. The Terps have won five straight, four of those games against ranked teams, and the last two over top 10 teams. They avenged the disaster in College Park by taking out Duke on senior night in Durham, and then came right back and pounded then No. 7 Virginia on Saturday, beating them by 35! Thirty-five points over an opponent in the Top 10?

I think that's worthy of being mentioned. What's it going to take, Maryland taking the ACC title out of the state of North Carolina? Guess you'll be rethinking the power poll next week. ...
Jeff
College Park, Md.

I do not see how you could have Stanford so hi in the poll. They are a good team, I'll give them that, but they do not play any quality teams besides UCLA. They need to play better teams in the next few years ( i.e. Duke, UNC, Florida)
Brian
Brockport, N.Y.

Hmmmm. Is it better to be No. 1 or No. 5 on the weakest list? And if a team has a downward arrow for momentum, does that mean they are moving towards being No. 1 on the list or are they moving towards being No. 5? And why is No. 1 on the bottom of the weakest list? Does it add suspense to it? I am still confused. I can clearly see that being No. 10 on the strongest list is worse than being No. 1. But if you are No. 5 on the weakest list, are you actually better than ... arrrrrgh.

Now I've got a headache.

How great is Tiger Woods? How much has he changed the game of golf? A few short years ago, finishing a couple shots back of the winner in a professional tournament meant you were playing excellent golf. Now it is suggested that the same finish puts you behind every other golfer in the world. Give me a break!

Excellent choice with all "non-Tigers"! Tiger spent the last few seasons raising the bar, and to the delight of us the fans, and the Tour I'm sure, the rest of the guys are stepping up their games and telling Tiger to bring it on. Kudos to Durant, Bjorn and anyone else that sucks it up, works hard and refuses to bow to Tiger's dominance.
