Four different players score for Beat

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) -- Nikki Serlenga's penalty-kick goal in the 54th minute stood up as the game-winner as the Atlanta Beat defeated the New York Power 4-1 Saturday night.

The Beat (7-7-1) got goals from four players. The last-place Power (2-12-1) lost their eighth in a row, extending their league-record losing streak.

Sun Wen scored Atlanta's first goal in the 36th minute. She drove a free kick past diving goalkeeper Saskia Webber. It was Sun's third goal of the season.

Serlenga's goal came after Power defender Kristy Whelchel took down Charmaine Hooper to create the penalty. It was Serlenga's first WUSA goal.

Homare Sawa and Hooper added second-half goals for Atlanta.

Tammy Pearman scored her second of the year in the 78th minute for the Power, who also tied the league record for losses in a season.
