STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Thailand's Paradorn Srichaphan beat Tommy Robredo 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-1 on Saturday to advance to the final of the Stockholm Open.
Srichaphan advanced to his fourth final of the year and will face Chile's Marcelo Rios, a 6-3, 7-5 semifinal winner over Morocco's Hicham Arazi.
Srichaphan, who won his first career title at Long Island in August, claimed his 24th victory in his last 30 matches.
Srichaphan built a 3-1 lead in the third set and broke Robredo for a 5-1 lead.
Srichaphan, bothered by a shoulder injury the last two weeks, said he felt "quite bad pain'' early in the third set. He also said he'd be ready for the final.
Arazi wasted two set points in the second set, and Rios reached his first final of the year.
"I played pretty well throughout the match, except for the games when I made couple of mistakes and was broken,'' said the sixth-seeded Rios. "But I returned well and I had a good feeling on the court and was confident I was going to break back.''
Rios lost to Srichaphan in Washington D.C., in August.
