LYON, France -- Top-seeded Rainer Schuettler beat doubles partner Mikhail Youzhny 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 Saturday to reach the final of the Lyon Open.
In Sunday's title match, Schuettler will face Arnaud Clement, who defeated Paradorn Srichaphan 6-2, 6-3.
Both finalists are trying to win back-to-back tournaments. Schuettler won his third career title in Tokyo last week, while Clement collected his second at Metz, France.
Against Youzhny, Schuettler overcame a 3-0 deficit in the final set.
"To be honest, I thought, 'It's over,' " the Australian Open runner-up said.
Schuettler won despite having his right ankle treated twice. |
