1998
Underwent arthroscopic surgery on her right wrist in late 1997 and was forced to miss the start of the season, including the Australian Open. Returned in April for the first round of Fed Cup, winning a doubles match.
Missed Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
Returned to action in July to play doubles in Fed Cup action, and at Stanford defeated Chanda Rubin before falling to Steffi Graf 6-4, 6-0.
Reached the doubles final at Boston.Ousted 13th seed Mary Pierce in the first round of the Canadian Open.
1997
Lost in the quarterfinals at Roland Garros to Monica Seles and in the semifinals of the Australian Open to Martina Hingis.
Defeated Mary Pierce in straight sets to win the German Open on May 18, giving her six career singles titles on the WTA Tour.
Advanced to the quarterfinals at her first three tournaments this year.
1996
Managed to play 15 tournaments for the second straight year after being limited to only 10 by injury and illness in 1994, when she had to undergo surgery for an internal disorder.
Reached the finals at Direct Line Championships at Eastbourne, but she failed to win a singles title for the first time since 1993.
Entered the Olympics as a late replacement for Chanda Rubin and teamed with Gigi Fernandez to win her second consecutive doubles gold medal.
Teamed with best friend Lindsay Davenport to win the French Open doubles title and reach the finals of the Australian Open. Davenport and Fernandez combined to win four doubles titles in '96.
Withdrew from the U.S. Open due to tendinitis in her right wrist.
1990
Made the first of her two career Australian Open finals appearances.
