MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Mark Little's RBI single capped a
two-run bottom of the ninth inning and lifted the Memphis
Redbirds to a 4-3 victory over the Albuquerque Dukes. Little,
who went 2-for-5 and scored a run, singled with the bases loaded
to end the game. Ernie Young blasted a solo home-run in the
ninth inning to tie the score at 3-3 for Memphis. Jose Rodriquez
(3-0) retired all six batters he faced to pick up the win in
relief of starter Alan Benes, who yielded three runs and seven
hits over seven innings. Chris Richard led off the sixth inning
with a homer for the Redbirds, who have won 12 of their last 15
games. Chad Ricketts (1-1) gave up two runs and three hits while
retiring just two batters to take the loss. Hiram Bocachica hit
a solo home run, his second blast in as many days for
Albuquerque, which has lost three straight.
