Meet me in New Orleans

 Phillip Fulmer
Coach Phillip Fulmer will try to take the Vols back to the national title game.
The second season of the Bowl Championship Series will wind its way toward a grand finale in New Orleans, site of the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 4. Between now and then, a lot of football will be played, and a few age-old arguments may be put to rest. But only temporarily, if you ask ESPN.com's Ray Ratto, who finds a peculiar charm in the fact that these disputes were never intended to be truly settled. In the meantime, conferences like the SEC or the Big Ten and the Big 12 will continue to stake their claim to the throne that the Tennessee Volunteers currently occupy. But while conferences and teams grab the headlines, coaches have become the game's most compelling figures, says columnist Bob Harig.
