Bruins rally twice for tie

  RECAP | BOX SCORE

BOSTON (AP) -- Under coach Mike Keenan, these Boston Bruins are becoming extremely dangerous at the end.

Sergei Samsonov scored a power-play goal with 13 seconds left in regulation to lift the Bruins into a 2-2 tie with the Nashville Predators on Saturday night.

"It was a strong finish for us and we are a work in progress, that's for sure," Keenan said. "We have to work on our finishing skills, otherwise we might have won the game."

The Bruins took advantage of a cross-checking penalty on Drake Berehowsky with 1:26 remaining in the third period. Jason Allison slid a pass from behind the net to a waiting Samsonov, who beat Predators goalie Tomas Vokoun.

"It is a joke to make that call late in the game," Berehowsky said. "If he gives me a shot in the head, why can't I hit him in the back? I guess I need to control myself because it cost us the game."

Boston also scored with 2:30 left in regulation in Thursday's victory over Ottawa and in the final minutes in a recent victory over Chicago.

Nashville took a 1-0 lead when Scott Hartnell scored his first goal of the season when he beat Bruins goalie Byron Dafoe at 2:40 of the first period. Hartnell, at 18, is the youngest player in the NHL.

Dafoe returned after missing 11 games with a hamstring injury. He was loudly booed after allowing a goal on Nashville's first shot.

"I didn't start the game the way I wanted and I was not happy with the second goal I let in," Dafoe said. "I thought I got stronger as the game went on and it was a big point for us."

Ken Belanger tied it at 1 only 54 seconds into the second when his slap shot went through Vokoun's legs. Belanger scored the winning goal on Thursday against Ottawa for his only two goals this season.

Vokoun made 22 saves for the Predators, who have outscored their opponents 15-4 in the first period.

The Predators are 4-1-1-1 on the road this season, allowing 12 goals in seven road games this season.

"We are successful on the road because our guys have been playing very aggressive," Vokoun said. "A big part of that has been our penalty killing."

Dafoe made 21 saves for the Bruins, who have allowed 31 goals in the last seven games.

Kimmo Timonen scored an unassisted power-play goal with 1:27 left in the second period to give the Predators a 2-1 lead. Dafoe appeared to be screened as the puck slid by his pad inside the right goal post.

The Predators failed to score on their 15 previous power-play opportunities, and were 3-for-36 in the last seven games.
