ESPY Q's: What's your addiction? Page 2 staff |
Everybody is addicted to something at any given time, whether it's a particular food, an exercise regimen, a Website or something else. What is your current addiction?
Serena Williams, tennis champion: Shopping for fabrics. I've been crazy about shopping for different dresses that I make. That's all I want to do. Even when I should be hitting, I'm like, gosh, you know, I really need to find a silk fabric that will go well with this leather. Kato Kaelin, actor, comedian former O.J. Simpson houseguest: I'm addicted to the Green Bay Packers, but I'm trying to lose that addiction because I get so upset when they lose on Sunday. My entire Sunday gets ruined when my team loses, and I'm not kidding you. I'm from Wisconsin originally, and it's a serious addiction. Summer Sanders, co-host of "NBA Inside Stuff" and former Olympic gold medalist in swimming: "Sex and the City!" For a while it was reality TV, but now it's "Sex and the City." And shoes. George Gervin, Pro Basketball Hall of Famer: Golf! I can't get enough. I love it to death. I try to hit the ball every day. It tortures me, but I'm used to accepting pain and recovering from it, you know, so it's fun for me. Michael Vick, Atlanta Falcons quarterback: Playstation. I play as myself. I play against everybody. Warren Moon, former NFL quarterback: I love to travel. I love to go to exotic places, where there's water. Roy Jones, Jr., boxer: Karate movies, I love karate movies. I just love 'em. Omar Epps, actor: Cadbury fruit and nut chocolate bars. I ate five of 'em last week. I don't think they know, but there should be some promotion opportunities. Hint, hint! Gary Payton, Los Angeles Lakers point guard: I'm addicted to Blitz, the portable football game. We play that every day. And the other thing I'm addicted to is dominos. I play dominos every day, too. Julius Erving, Pro Basketball Hall of Famer: I'm suffering with an addiction to learn how to play golf better. That's my current addiction. Lisa Leslie, Los Angeles Sparks center: Oh my. Powdered donuts. The one thing I'm not supposed to be eating. Krispy Kreme donuts. Just donuts in general. George Lopez, actor and comedian: I'm golf crazy. I've broke lamps, broken glasses, crushed walls. I slipped on a golf ball in the middle of the night on the way to the bathroom. I don't leave my clubs in the car because I think they can't breathe. If I do leave them I crack the window.
Chuck D, hip-hop artist: Travel. Marcus Allen, Pro Football Hall of Famer: Golf. This is it, man. I'm hooked. I'm swinging my club at home in the living room for a couple hours a day, that's how pathetic I am. I know I'm close. I haven't got to the point where I want to be, but I know I can do some things. Paul Schulte, disabled athlete: Basketball and my wife. When I'm with one I'm pulled toward the other one. Craig Krenzel, Ohio State quarterback: Golf. I like to golf, but I probably don't get to play as much I'd like -- or as much as (my girlfriend) would tell you. Keyshawn Johnson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver: Winning. I'm not even necessarily talking about the Super Bowl. I'm talking about winning in life. I don't ever want to be a failure at anything, and I never want to lose anything. I hate to lose in my business. I just don't like to lose period. Steve Lavin, former UCLA men's basketball coach: Right now in my transition from coaching to broadcasting, I've had the opportunity to attend a lot of baseball games. I've been to Wrigley Field to see the Cubs-Yankees series. I was at PacBell to see the Giants and A's play, and I'm going back to Wrigley later this month to watch the Giants and Cubs play. So my current addiction is probably baseball. Tommy Maddox, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback: Probably golf, especially in the offseason. I try to play as much as I can. In fact, my wife would definitely say that I play too much. I try to play four or five times a week. |
