| | Dear Diary,
This week my schedule turned out to be different from last week's. That's because I started to have pain in my left knee while I was skating. At first, I thought it was nothing and that it would go away in a couple of days, but it kept on getting worse. So finally, on Tuesday, I went to see the doctor. I told him what happened and where it hurt.

The doctor told me I had pulled one of the bigger ligaments in my left knee. Since I didn't come sooner, the ligament was really swollen. He heated my knee with a heating pad and then gave me a shot on the place where it hurt the most so it would heal faster and not get worse. The doctor thought the cause of this was from doing off-ice jumping too much, but my parents thought it was from skating. I will have to go visit him one more time to get another shot.
So I haven't been able to skate for a week. I'm not sure how much longer I have to stay off the ice because I don't know where to put my energy. Injuries like these cause skaters to stay off the ice for a while. The cause of this is that once the skater gets back on the ice they tend to lose jumps and not feel normal on the ice. The recovery takes time; it can be from a week to a month. It all depends on the person.
My focus has been to work harder on my off-ice training. I can't really use my left knee because it hurts too much, so I can't do exercises with my legs. I have been concentrating on upper-body workouts like weights, curl-up and stretches.
Since I'm behind in my home schooling work, I have to go to my tutor five times a week to catch up with the normal school schedule. At first, home schooling was really easy, but as I go on, it is getting harder.
This week, I also got to attend my friend's 14th birthday party. She was one of my closest friends in elementary school. We watched videos that we all requested to see. We've all seen these comedy movies before, but watching it together seemed a lot more fun. I'll always remember events like these because, with my busy skating schedule, I rarely get to attend. Something I am looking forward to next week is spending time with my big brother, Ben. He is coming home from college for spring break.
The Junior World's will also be held in Germany next week. This is going to be an exciting event worldwide. Since I could not make it this year, hopefully next year I will make it. I want to wish the U.S. team the best of luck! I also want to wish one of my training friends, Christine Lee, the best. She will be representing Hong Kong.
Till next time,
Bye!
