Background: Halverson's husband, Rick, was a competitor in timber sports and got Halverson interested in competing. Once she tried it, she fell in love with it. Halverson spends four to six days a week in the gym at her house. Her key to victory is having good equipment and the expertise to use it.
Competitive history: 1998 and 1999, All-Around Womens World Champion; 1999, winner, Lumberjack World Championship in Hayward, Wisc and world champion in the Woman's Underhand Chop.
Personal Records: World record in Women's Single Buck in 14- and 16-inches; has broken Jack and Jill records eight times at the Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward, IL
