BOWIE, Maryland (Ticker) -- Rick Bauer pitched seven scoreless innings and Luis Matos drove in three runs to lead the Bowie BaySox to an 8-3 victory over the Altoona Curve. Bauer (3-1), who lowered his ERA to 1.17, allowed five hits and struck out four without issuing a walk. Matos hit a two-run double in the sixth inning and reached on an error to drive in a run in the seventh. Ivanon Coffie ripped a two-run double to cap a four-run fifth inning for Bowie, which improved to 4-0 against Altoona. Adam Hyzdu hit a run-scoring double to cap a three-run eighth inning for the Curve, who fell to 3-10 on the road. Brian O'Connor (3-2) gave up seven runs and nine hits over 5 2/3 innings to take the loss.
