ALTOONA, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Alexander Haverbusch singled
home the go-ahead run in the bottom of eighth inning to lift the
Altoona Curve over the Akron Aeros, 5-3. Haverbush's hit drove
home Eddy Furniss and Adam Hyzdu scored on an error by Jeff
Depippo. Rob Mackowiak went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run
for Altoona, which has won four of its last six ballgames. John
Grabow (2-1) allowed three runs -- two earned -- and eight hits
in eight innings for the win. Rich Loiselle struck out two
batters in a hitless ninth to pick up his first save. Chris
Coste went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles for Akron, which has
lost seven of its last 10. Tim Drew (2-2) gave up five runs --
three earned -- and eight hits in 7 1/3 innings for the loss.
