TRENTON, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Marcus Thames and Jackson Melian
each knocked in three runs to lead the Norwich Navigators to a
12-3 victory over the Trenton Thunder. Thames, who went 3-for-4
with three runs, hit a three-run homer to highlight a six-run
fifth inning. Melian hit a two-run single to cap the
fifth-inning rally and drew a walk with the bases loaded in the
ninth. Richard Almanzar went 3-for-5 with two RBI and Scott
Seabol hit a two-run homer during a four-run fourth inning for
Norwich, which improved to 3-1 against Trenton. Christian Parker
(4-0) allowed two runs and 11 hits over eight innings to pick up
the win. Rontrez Johnson went 2-for-5 with an RBI triple in the
third inning for the Thunder, who fell to 3-11 at home. Brian
Barkley (1-4) gave up five runs and eight hits in 3 2/3 innings
to take the loss.
