GAME LOG
TORONTO (AP) Esteban Loaiza was hit so hard he thought he was tipping his pitches. Miguel Tejada homered and had four RBI as the Oakland Athletics beat the Toronto Blue Jays 8-5 Tuesday night. "I think they knew what was coming," Loaiza said. "They've hit six home runs, and scored 14 home runs off me in the last two outings. That's not me." Loaiza, who gave up all the runs including two homers by Tejada in a 6-0 loss last Wednesday, allowed eight runs and 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings. "It went their way just like last week," Loaiza said. "I think they have a number on me. I need to look at the video to see what I'm doing different." Tejada hit a three-run homer off Loaiza (4-3) in the sixth to give Oakland a 7-1 lead. Three of Tejada's eight home runs this season are off Loaiza. "Loaiza is a good pitcher. I don't want to say nothing wrong," Tejada said. "This is the first year I've been hitting so good against him." Mark Mulder (4-2), who pitched a three-hitter against Toronto for his first career shutout last Wednesday, allowed four runs and eight hits in 7 1/3 innings. "He's been our most effective starter lately," Oakland manager Art Howe said. Terrence Long and Johnny Damon also homered for the Athletics, who had lost two straight. Long gave Oakland a 2-0 lead in the third with a two-run homer. Toronto's Darrin Fletcher had an RBI-double in the bottom of the inning. Oakland scored twice in the fourth on Tejada's RBI-double and Sal Fasano's double-play grounder. Tejada and Damon homered in the sixth. "Miguel owns me," Loaiza said. Toronto's Tony Batista hit a two-run single in the seventh. Chris Woodward homered in the eighth and Brad Fullmer hit one in the ninth for the Blue Jays to make it 8-5. Jim Mecir then got the final out for his first save of the year. Game notesTejada has hit homers in each of his last four games at SkyDome. ...
