There's a lot of strange stuff happening in the world of sports -- and in the real world, for that matter -- so Page 2 is here once again to try to make sense of all the weirdness with another edition of "What the Heck Are They Thinking?"

We've tried to figure out what some prominent folks might be thinking -- if anything -- and the best we could do was come up with multiple possibilities, all equally plausible. So, as always, we are asking for your help. Check out the options for each questionable act or quote, and vote in the poll to move on to yet another sports story.

What was Ruben Rivera thinking when he took a bat and a glove from Derek Jeter's locker and sold them?

A. "Jeter makes $19 million a year ... he'll never miss one lousy bat and glove."

B. "The Boss seems to go for multiple screw-ups, like Darryl and Doc. This might be a smart way to get on his charitable side."

C. "It'll be good practice for my next career, which should be getting started pretty soon."

D. "If nobody cares about Zim betting on sports with drug-dealing bookies, who's gonna care about this?"

E. "A little comic relief will help take pressure off the guys ... and I've always been willing to sacrifice myself for the good of the team."

F. "Joe told me the one way I could really help the team was with steals."
