Motorola Showdown at Sherwood -- Hole 6

ABC Sports Online

Tiger took his first lead in the competition because Duval's shot fell into an impossible lie near the water hazard.

Woods, again throwing grass into the air to gauge the wind, began this par-3, 186-yard Hole 6 with a 8-iron. It proved to be a good choice, as his first shot landed only 10-feet away from the pin to a roaring applause. Duval's first shot was a disaster, landing in the thick vegetation and rock right above a water hazard to the left of the green.

Duval made a drop because he believed the ball was in the water. The referee told him it fell into the water. Regardless, on his third shot from a ball drop area, Duval shot reached the green but conceded the hole to Tiger.

Woods then had a 3-2 advantage in the match-play tournament.
