BOWIE, Maryland (Ticker) -- Rob Mackowiak went 2-for-4 with a
pair of RBI as the Altoona Curve nipped the Bowie BaySox, 3-2.
Mackowiak smacked a two-run double in the fourth inning to
provide the final margin of victory. Alexander Hernandez went
3-for-4 and Luis Figueroa lofted a sacrifice fly for the Curve,
who have won back-to-back games against Bowie after dropping
their previous four meetings. Adam Amezcua hit a two-run single
for the BaySox, who lost for just the eighth time in their last
24 games. Sam McConnell (2-1) pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings to
pick up the win in relief and John Rosengren tossed a perfect
ninth to earn his second save. Sean Douglass (2-2) allowed seven
hits and three runs in five innings to take the loss.
