RECAP
PORTLAND, Maine (Ticker) -- Matt Erickson hit a solo homer in
the bottom of the 11th inning as the Portland Sea Dogs rallied
to defeat the Trenton Thunder, 5-4. After the first two batters
struck out in the 11th, Erickson hit his first home run of the
season to right field. Ross Gload hit a two-run, ninth-inning
homer for Portland to send the game to extra innings tied, 3-3.
Steve Lomasney stroked an RBI double in the top of the 10th to
put Trenton ahead, 4-3. Jaime Jones delivered two-out double in
the bottom of the 10th to tie it, 4-4. Bobby Rodgers (1-0)
tossed a perfect 11th inning to earn the win for the Sea Dogs,
who have won two of their last three games. Dario Perez (0-1)
took the loss, allowing one run and two hits over 1 1/3 innings
of work. Tony DeRosso had two doubles and two RBI for the
Thunder, who have lost 14 of their last 19 games.
