BINGHAMTON, New York (Ticker) -- Tommy Peterman had two hits,
including a bases loaded single in the ninth inning, as the New
Britain Rock Cats came from behind to defeat the Binghamton
Mets, 9-6. Peterman singled in two runs and later scored New
Britain's final run in a six-run frame. Michael Cuddyer and
A.J. Pierzynski both had an RBI for New Britain, which has won
only two of its last five games. David Hooten (1-0) picked up
the win in relief, tossing one inning of two-hit ball, giving up
one run. Lee Marshall got the final out to record his fourth
save. Alex Escobar drove in three runs and had three hits,
including a homer, and Mo Bruce went 4-for-4 with a homer for
Binghamton. Allen Dina and Ty Wigginton each had two hits and an
RBI for the Mets, who have lost two of their last three. Corey
Brittan (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing six runs -- two earned
-- and four hits in 2/3 inning.
