YANTIC, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Allan Westfall pitched seven
scoreless innings as the New Haven Ravens defeated the Norwich
Navigators, 2-0. Westfall (2-0) retired 21 of the 23 batters he
faced, allowing just one hit and one walk to earn the win. Jeff
Farnsworth tossed perfect eighth and ninth innings to pick up
his first save. Greg Connors took a bases-loaded walk in the
sixth to bring home the first run and Alex Fernandez followed
with an RBI groundout to drive in the only other run for New
Haven, which has won three of its last four games. Jason
Beverlin (1-1) took the loss, giving up two runs and five hits
over 5 1/3 innings of work. Marcus Thames had a fifth-inning
double for Norwich, which has dropped three of four.
