READING, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Pete Rose Jr. and Brian Harris
each had two hits, including a homer and two RBI, to power the
Reading Phillies over the Akron Aeros, 10-6. Rose Jr. knocked in
a run with a single in the third inning and a homer in the
fifth. Harris homered in the fifth and hit a sacrifice fly in
the seventh. Carmine Cappuccio chipped in with three RBI and
Jason Knupfer hit a two-run homer for Reading, which has won
four of its last six games. Kris Stevens (5-1) earned the win,
giving up four runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings. John Daniels
picked up his first save, tossing 3 2/3 innings of three-hit
ball. Ryan Jones and Chad Whitaker each hit two-run homers for
Akron, which has dropped two of its last three games. Frankie
Sanders (1-3) suffered the loss, giving up seven runs -- three
earned -- and five hits in four innings.
