ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (Ticker) -- Juan Sosa drove home what
proved to be the deciding run the top of the ninth inning as the
Colorado Springs Sky Sox downed the Albuquerque Dukes, 8-7. Sosa
hit a two-out single to bring home Phil Hiatt and give Colorado
Springs an 8-6 lead. Brent Butler, who went 3-for-5, hit an RBI
double to cap a two-run eighth inning for the Sky Sox. Pete
Walker (3-1) yielded one run and two hits in 2 2/3 innings for
the win and David Lee posted his second save despite allowing a
run and two hits in 1 1/3 innings. Scott McClain drove in three
runs for Colorado Springs, which improved to 10-7 on the road.
Hiram Bocachica blasted a solo homer in the fifth inning and
added an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth for Albuquerque,
which lost for just the fourth time in its last 10 games. Ricky
Stone (2-2) surrendered three runs -- one earned -- and three
hits in two innings to take the loss.
