DES MOINES, Iowa (Ticker) -- Cole Liniak drove in four runs and
Ruben Quevedo pitched eight strong innings as the Iowa Cubs
defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs, 7-4. Liniak hit a three-run
double to highlight a five-run sixth inning and added a solo
home run in the eighth. Quevedo (2-0), who entered the game
having not pitched more than five innings in any of his three
starts, allowed three runs and five hits while striking out 10.
Tarrik Brock and Chris Hatcher also homered for Iowa, which
snapped a three-game losing skid. Marc Sagmoen had a double,
homer and three RBI for New Orleans, who had won seven of its
previous eight games. Wade Miller (1-2) gave up six runs and
seven hits over 5 1/3 innings to take the loss.
