1987: Comeback versus FSU sparks Miami

One of the greatest comebacks in the history of the Miami-Florida State rivalry stood one two-point conversion away from being trumped. The No. 3 Canes (2-0) had overcome a 19-3 deficit and led the No. 4 Noles 26-25 with 42 seconds to play. Florida State needed 3 yards to take back a one-point lead. On the right side of the end zone, Miami defensive back Bubba McDowell swatted away Danny McManus' pass to Pat Carter. Miami would finish 12-0. -- Maisel
