1998: Vols stay perfect -- with Hogs' help

A year after Peyton Manning left, the Volunteers were 8-0 and ranked No. 1 in the country. But the Vols trailed upstart Arkansas 24-22 with less than two minutes to play. The Razorbacks had the football and needed only a first down to finish the remarkable upset. But on second down, quarterback Clint Stoerner tripped over guard Brandon Burlsworth's foot. As Stoerner fell, he tried to regain his balance by placing the ball on the ground. He fumbled, the Vols recovered and Travis Henry ran for a 1-yard touchdown in an improbable 28-24 victory. -- Schlabach
