How you beat Hasek
How you beat Cechmanek
Don't let him "get in the game" and get on a roll, with perimeter shots. You have a chance to beat him on the glove side because he has a tendency to keep his glove high before you shoot it. Shooters will think there is no room, and then he drops it at the last minute to cover the lower part on left side. Shooters have been more aggressive on wraparounds, jamming his feet and the net in an effort to score. You can beat him by going hard down the wing and faking the shot. He may come out toward you to cut down the angle, and then go wide for the more difficult angle but open net. He has a habit of "leaning" on shots, so going against the grain may be an option.
How Hasek beats you
How Cechmanek beats you
He beats you in many ways, most notably with his uncanny ability to stop the one shot he's not supposed to. He has terrific flexibility; when you think you have him beat, he leans back and robs you. He also never quits on a play, so don't take it for granted that you have the open net. He beats you with his presence and massive 6-foot-3 size. He takes away a lot of net by challenging and is very good with his stick in close. You think you have him beat with a deke, and he poke-checks you with his stick.
