How you beat Nabokov
How you beat Turek
You can beat him low to the stick side -- IF you are a right shot on the right side of the ice -- by getting him to overcommit to his left. If he is tired, he will leave room between the legs on quick shots. You can beat him with patience, as he has a tendency to slide down on his knees and drop his glove low. He has a large five-hole because of his long legs, and that area is exposed when he goes to the butterfly -- if the shot is quick.
How Nabokov beats you
How Turek beats you
He can beat you with his super-quick legs and perfect stance -- his glove is at his left hip and in a great position. He can surprise shooters by quickly pushing out to challenge, as his movement is as good as there is. He can beat you with his enormous size (6-foot-3, 210 pounds) and long legs. He also can catch a shooter off-guard because he catches with his right hand instead of his left.
