How you beat Salo
How you beat Belfour
You can beat him with quick puck movement and by getting him to go laterally across the crease to open up his legs. He has a tendency to drop his glove in tight, leaving the upper part of the net exposed on plays from behind the net to the front. You can beat him with aggressive traffic around the crease for screens and tip-ins. He can leave room high to the short side on the stick side -- if you are a right hand shot.
How Salo beats you
How Belfour beats you
He beats you with a combination of assets, from his competitiveness to his athletic ability and quickness. He has good feet and a strong presence in the net that his players will play hard for. He beats you like he has beaten so many the past two years -- with a sound, technical game that has shown no flaws. He has a strong mental approach and focus that no longer gets bothered by the players standing in his crease who are trying to get him off his game.
