RECAP
YANTIC, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Adrian Meyers hit a two-run
single in the top of the eighth inning as the New Haven Ravens
held off the Norwich Navigators, 6-5, to earn a split of a
doubleheader. Meyers snapped a 4-4 deadlock after Juan Thomas
had tied the game with a two-out RBI base hit in the seventh
inning. Thomas, who went 2-for-3, also had a run-scoring single
in the first inning and lifted a sacrifice fly in the third for
New Haven. Jermaine Clark went 4-for-4 with three runs scored
for the Ravens, who evened their record at 12-12. Scott Seabol
delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning and
Paul Ottavinia, who had the game-winning hit in the first game,
knocked in three runs for Norwich. Justin Kaye (1-1) retired all
six batters he faced to pick up the win and Jake Meyer allowed
two hits and one run but hung on for his first save. Joe Lisio
(0-1) gave up two hits and two runs -- one earned -- in one
inning of relief to take the loss for the Navigators, which won
opening game, 4-3.
