WEST HAVEN, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Greg Conners and Jim Horner
both hit a homer and drove in a pair of runs as the New Haven
Ravens beat the Erie SeaWolves, 6-3. Conners hit a solo blast in
the sixth inning and added an RBI single in the eighth. Horner
hit an RBI ground out in the third frame and smacked his fifth
homer of the season in the fifth. Allan Westfall allowed a run
and two hits over seven innings to win his fourth straight
start. Westfall (4-1) issued one walk and struck out six,
including four in a row between the first and second innings.
Kevin Gryboski recorded the final out to notch his seventh save
for New Haven, which has won six straight. Nathan Haynes and
Chris Walther both singled home a run for Erie, which has
dropped four of its last six games. Ryan Cummings (1-2)
surrendered three runs and six hits in six innings to take the
loss.
