AKRON, Ohio (Ticker) -- Chris Coste and Zach Sorensen both drew
a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth inning as the
Akron Aeros edged the Portland Sea Dogs, 6-5. Coste, who hit a
solo homer in the second inning, was issued one of Akron's four
walks in the ninth inning, tying the score at 5-5. Sorensen's
walk forced home Jon Hamilton with the winning run for the
Aeros, who improved to 7-1 in their last eight home games. Scott
Pratt blasted a three-run homer in the second inning for Akron.
Winning pitcher J.D. Brammer (2-1) yielded two runs -- one
earned -- and three hits, striking out three, in two innings.
Pablo Ozuna and Jaime Jones both contributed a pair of RBI for
Portland, which has lost three of its last five games. Bobby
Rodgers (1-1) surrendered two runs, one hit and four walks while
retiring just two batters to take the loss.
