b"Americas HeroesAt ESPN, we salute Americas Heroes for their incredible sacrifice and service to our country. We are honored to share their stories throughout the year and during a special week of programming in November that highlights veterans and active duty military members.Together with The Walt Disney Company, were also invested in helping veterans find employment opportunities as they transition to the civilian workforce. In collaboration with American Corporate Partners, our employees (including ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro) serve as mentors helping returning veterans and active duty spouses find their next careers through one-on-one mentoring, networking and online career advice. Additionally, we sponsor Career Fairs together with Disabled American Veterans to help veterans makeVoting Campaignconnections with potential employers.Prior to the most recent presidential election, the U.S. ranked 26th out of the world's 32 developed countries for its percentage of eligible voters who actually turned out to votein our world, that would make the U.S. unranked in the weekly college football polls! We wanted to do our part as a media network to change that statistic. Together with the other Disney media networks, we teamed up with I Am A Voter, a nonpartisan movement dedicated to creating a cultural shift around voting and civic engagement. We ran simple, nonpartisan messaging across our platforms that highlighted tentpoles around voter registration, absentee ballots, early voting and Election Day to inspire and inform sports fans to vote.ESPN, ABC and The Walt Disney Company hosted a panel discussion celebrating and honoring veterans. Speakers, including ABCs Meghan McCain and Bob Woodruff as well as several veterans, discussed how the military has affected their lives and careers. Voting is the ultimate form of civic engagement, and our goal was to ensure that sports fans knew how to vote and to easily find the resources they needed to be informed on voting.Follow @ESPNCitizenshipwww.espn.com/citizenship 21"
