EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- Tim Laker drove in three runs to
lead the Nashville Sounds to a 6-5 victory over the Edmonton
Trappers. Laker legged out an RBI triple in the fourth inning to
tie the score at 1-1 and added a two-run double in the fifth,
staking Nashville to a 5-1 lead. Aramis Ramirez went 2-for-4
with an RBI double in the fourth inning for Nashville, which won
for just the second time in seven games. Chris Peters (1-1) gave
up three runs and seven hits over 6 1/3 innings to pick up the
win and Corey Bailey worked a scoreless 1 2/3 frames to notch
his fourth save. Trent Durrington hit a grand slam in the bottom
of the seventh inning for Edmonton, which lost for just the
fourth time in its last 12 games. Scot Shields (1-2) surrendered
five runs and six hits in five innings to take the loss.
