RECAP
SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- Brian Lesher and Chad Alexander both
went 4-for-5 as the Tacoma Rainiers pounded out 19 hits in
beating the Salt Lake Buzz, 10-6. Lesher, who went 5-for-5 with
two homers against Salt Lake on Tuesday, hit an RBI single
during a five-run first inning and doubled to lead off the
third. Alexander beat out an RBI infield hit in the first inning
and drove home Lesher with a single in the third. Jose Flores
collected three his and Robert Machado knocked in two runs for
Tacoma, which evened its record at 13-13. Tom Davey (2-3)
allowed three runs and four hits over five innings, striking out
seven, to pick up the win. Mike Moriarty hit a three-run homer
in the fourth inning and Doug Mientkiewicz went 3-for-5 with a
two-run double for the Buzz, who lost for the fifth time in
their last eight games. Benj Sampson (2-1) was tagged for 10
runs and 14 hits over 4 1/3 innings to suffer the loss.
