CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- Nate Rolison had three hits and knocked home three runs and Julio Ramirez added a pair of RBI as the Calgary Cannons edged the Memphis Redbirds, 8-7. Rolison blasted a two-run homer in the first inning and doubled home a run in the second. Ramirez ripped a two-run double in the second as Calgary took a 6-4 lead. Geoff Duncan (1-0) yielded a pair of hits and two walks, striking out seven, including four in a row between the sixth and seventh innings, for the win. Joe Strong fanned three and allowed a hit over two innings for the win. Lou Lucca drove home three runs and Chris Richards drilled a two-run homer for Memphis, which had a four-game win streak stopped. Alan Benes (0-1) surrendered eight runs, six hits and four walks in 2 1/3 innings for the loss.
